Part Time Student Assistant Position
DULA Library is recruiting current DULA students for one (1) part-time library assistant position to begin July 2018.
Provide information and reference service in person, by phone or online.
Interpret, apply and enforce library rules, policies and procedures.
Assist patrons with locating, selecting and using materials.
Check-out and check-in materials, renew and re-shelve items, and perform related circulation and organizational tasks.
Participate in assigned library projects, report on problem areas and recommend appropriate changes.
Perform copy cataloging, basic data entry and process new materials.
Process sales from the bookstore, as well as fees and fines for library materials.
Terms and Conditions:
Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, reaching and bending in the performance of daily activities.
Grasping and fine eye-hand coordination in using a computer keyboard, mouse and standard office equipment are required.
This position also requires clear vision in reading typed reports and work-related documents. Acute hearing is required when providing personal and phone service.
Ability to lift, drag and push materials weighing 15 pounds or more is required.
Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time students in DULA뭩 MSOM or DAOM programs.
Knowledge & Abilities
Work with and around standard office equipment;
Sort and file alphanumerically;
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Lift and carry weights of 15 pounds or more;
Competency in basic math skills;
Communicate clearly, accurately and in a timely manner;
Perform related tasks as assigned.
This is a part-time position offering 10 hours per week, seeking to fill shifts 1:00 pm-6:00 pm on 2 days among Monday through Saturday based on prevailing hourly rate.
